Tasting Notes: Strawberry, Orange zest, Grapefruit, Pomegranate
The Grignolino grape is a little-known Italian red variety, farmed on Heitz’ California estate vineyard since 1961. It's darker in color and has a lot of darker fruit characteristics while still maintaining a certain lightness. The palate is very dry, laced with red fruits and citrus. Balanced by a nice touch of underlying acidity making this wine a perfect choice for warm weather days while keeping it fresh and inviting through the finish. Just the thing for spring salads with goat cheese or Sunday brunch.
