Grape: Trousseau Gris
Tasting Notes: Stone fruit, Grapefruit, Tea, Lychee
Jolie-Laide is a one-man operation based in a Sebastopol winery where winemaker Scott Schultz makes only 500 cases of wine a year under his own label.
The fruit for the Jolie-Ladie Trousseau Gris comes from the Farnucchi-Wood Road Vineyard which is planted with near-extinct Recherché vines. These vines produce unique yet fascinating fruit. In turn, the wines made from them are equally beguiling. The wine sees some time on the skins adding to the nice texture and was foot stomped. Medium acidity and body. Flavors of blood orange, peach pit, wild pomelo, summer melon, stone fruit, white tea, lychee, apple, and hibiscus with hints of spice. Nice with a crisp salad or a light fish dish. It continues to surprise and delight.
