Since 1885, Kuroki Honten has devoted itself to the art of shochu-making. They take great pride in growing all the ingredients for their shochu themselves on their own organic farms. They use underground water sourced from the subterranean flow of Omaru River.
Kiroku is the brand of Kogane Sengan sweet potato shochu from the well respected Kuroki Honten distillery. It is distilled one time (honkaku), traditionally, in earthen pots (Kame) using black Koji (Kuro Koji). It is then aged for three years in kame (large porcelain pots). Structured and concentrated, the palate experiences the mellow taste of sweet potato, spices, and black tea with roasted notes that leads into a fragrant and complex finish.
