Grape: Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault. Clairette, Ugni Blanc
Tasting Notes: Melon, Peach, Citrus, Mineral
In the early '70s Michel and Louis Bronzo acquired the property of the Bastide Blanche. It was in 1993 when vintage conditions created the benchmark year to put Bandol in general and Bastide-Blanche, in particular, on the map of top producers in France. Common each year to their success are their very low yields and simply impeccable cellar conditions and attention.
The Domaine La Bastide Blanche is a textbook Bandol. It's light to medium bodied but with substance. It has a taut mineral framework, decent tannins, and juicy acidity. The silky palate features flavors of melon, peach, strawberry, orange zest, minerals, lavender, a hint of herbs and a touch of spice. Enjoy with a pork tenderloin.
