Grape: Picpoul

Languedoc-Roussillon, spanning from the border of Spain to the Rhone, is one of the largest wine producing regions in the world, and is known for the diversity of wines it produces. Picpoul, one of the lesser known Rhone varietals, is actually the indigenous white grape of the predominantly red Languedoc region. While modestly priced, La Chapelle is anything but modest in character. Citrusy and bright on the opening, its notes are crisply defined and striking. Thanks to a subtle backdrop of delicate florals, it maintains grace and elegance despite its vigor. A classic summer table wine that pairs well with oysters on the half-shell or cold crab meat cocktail.
