Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes: Citrus, Pear, Green Apple, Mineral
The largest and most famous Pouilly-Fumé vineyards have been in the hands of the Comte Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787 when the Comte Lafond purchased the estate from the illegitimate daughter of the French king, Louis XV.
The grapes for Les Deux Tours are grwn on mainly siliceous-limestone with some parcels of flint clay. The grapes are sourced from the best vine growers in the region. The wine is dry, well balanced, fresh and clean with low to moderate acidity and easy body. The generous palate sends flavors of lemon, lime, pear, chalk, mineral, wet stone, and savory, grassy and vegetal notes that are often found in Sancerre. Try with flounder or mussels.
