Grape: Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes: Black fruits, Herbs, Spice, Cedar
Leah Jorgensen is a fifteen-year wine industry veteran making expressive interpretations of France’s Loire Valley wines centered around Cabernet Franc grown in Southern Oregon. All of the vineyards Leah works with are certified sustainable via L.I.V.E. (Low Impact Viticulture + Enology) and are certified Salmon Safe.
Leah Jorgensen's Cabernet Franca is a complex bottle of wine, but also so approachable and easy to like, and it smells absolutely beautiful – like a bouquet of flowers. This is a dry wine with a bright and juicy palate exuding flavors of black cherries, raspberry, tobacco, anise, spice, herbs, cranberry, huckleberry, cedar, and black pepper with interesting savory and herbal components in the background. It’s light and lithe, but with firm tannins on the lingering finish. Pair with anything influenced by fire, especially herb-influenced meats such as beef, duck, or lamb.
