Frenchtown, Walla Walla Valley’s first settlement, was founded by French Canadians in the early 1800s. This Frenchtown wine salutes these pioneers. Founded in 1983, L’Ecole N° 41 is a third-generation family-owned, artisan winery located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on the label. L’Ecole is one of the most honored wineries in Washington State and has garnered national and international accolades. They are a leader in sustainable farming in the Walla Walla Valley.
This entry level bottling by L’Ecole is a seriously good wine. Plum, blackberry, black cherry, savory dried sage, thyme, tobacco, oak, leather, and red fruit flavors abound. Well balanced and integrated, medium to mildly full bodied, smooth tannins, and nice acidity. Pair with everything from burgers and pizza to grilled steaks.
