Around 1877 Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta began the design and construction of the complex that is today known as the López de Heredia bodega (winery), the oldest in Haro in Rioja Alta and one of the first three houses in the Rioja region. Bodegas López de Heredia stands out as one of the few family-run bodegas regulated by the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja.
This classic Rioja is full-bodied with incredible softness and complexity. It's supple and energetic in style, with a core of zesty acidity and elegant, refined tannins. It’s bursting with notes of cherry compote, plum, chocolate, mushroom, and spices along with an earthy, savoury side from the wine’s three years in old American oak. Perfect with all meat dishes (especially ham), mushroom risotto, tapas and charcuterie
