Founded by Abruzzo native Gianni Masciarelli in 1981, Masciarelli and its wines have become the standard-bearer for the Abruzzo region. Gianni firstly brought a strong focus on vineyard sites and management, not a typical point of focus at the time. Reducing yields, working sustainably, and bringing vineyard planting and management techniques new to the region, he greatly increased fruit quality.The innovation that Gianni and his wife, Marina Cvetic, brought to the vineyards and the winery has been rewarded with 29 Tre Bicchieri, the prestigious award of the most renowned wine guide in Italy.

The Marina Cvetic, produced since 1997, provides a blend of Montepulciano grapes from 8 of the estate’s top parcels and truly represents the summit of what Montepulciano can achieve: total balance, richly textured,  juicy, fresh, and full-bodied with a firm structure and good length. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, sweet spice, tobacco, leather, oak, vanilla and earth abound. Perfect to accompany grilled red meats. This Reserve is ideal in combination with poultry and aged cheeses.
