Tasting notes: Citrus, Stone fruit, Mineral, Stone
Massican is a small winery devoted to artisanal white wines. Owner/winemaker Dan Petroski has a cult following for his precisely etched whites. The winery is named after Monte Massico (the Massican hills), the coastal mountain range in southern Italy where their founders are from. The Massican Sauvignon Blanc pays homage to the tart and delicious every day wine workhorse of the region of Friuli, Italy.
The light-bodied palate is vibrant and juicy with excellent depth and balance. There's notes of wet stone, lemon zest, orange blossoms, lime, peach, minerals, brine, fresh herbs, and complex, layered acidity. The finish is seamless with incredible precision. Definite sipper or pair with a light summer meal.
