Grape: 84% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 8% Petit Verdot.
Tasting notes: Blueberry, Spice, Black Cherry, Earth
In 1981 the Giguiere family pioneered grape growing in Dunnigan Hills when they planted their first vineyard. By 1993, they had succeeded in creating the Dunnigan Hills as a nationally recognized American appellation.
This is a substantial wine with classic old world characteristics and bright new world flavors. Big, round and balanced, full bodied with rich tannins and deep rich color. Smooth and soft on the palate with lots of fruit flavors (blueberry, spiced apple, raspberry, blackberry) and characteristics of spice, tobacco, and earth. Would pair just as well with pork or lamb as it would with a spicy paella.
