In 1344, “Mourredon”, part of the Pope’s land holdings, was officially recognised as a vineyard. In 1923 Henri Plantin purchased Mont-Redon. Four generations of his descendants, the Abeille and Fabre families, have consolidated and expanded the Mont Redon vineyard holdings while continually enhancing their wine making skills. Chateau Mont-Redon now occupies one of the most exceptional vineyards areas of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation
This highly rated CdP is elegant, round, fleshy, unctuous, full bodied, and layered with firm tannins, bright acidity, and a racy graphite edge. The velvety palate will find blackberry, black currant, plum, raspberry, spice, leather, red fruits, pepper, fruitcake, licorice, smoke, oak, and lavender flavors that carry you into a long, spicy finish. Excellent with roast lamb or pork.
