Grape: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo
Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Prunes, Cocoa, Vanilla
Prado Enea is the flagship wine at Muga, a steadfastly traditional Gran Reserva that is typically only produced 4 or so years per decade. It is aged 1 year in American oak, then 3 years in French oak and, finally, 3 years in bottle before it is released.
The Prado Enea is a complex, well structured wine of gentle power and air-light volume underpinned by cashmere silky tannins, harmoniously balanced by fresh acidity. The supple palate reveals developed flavors of blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, vanilla, spices, hints of liquorice, cocoa, truffle, and forest floor. The finish lingers on the tongue. This wine pairs well with casseroles, meat dishes, fish, and cheese.
