Tasting Notes: Black Cherry, Fig, Cocoa, Leather
Paternoster has been one of the most important wineries in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy since 1927. Since 2016, it has been owned by Tommasi Family Estates. Tommasi began in 1902 and is now run by the 4th generation of the family.
Paternoster Synthesi, Aglianico is a volcanic wine in the literal sense of the term as it grows on the slopes surrounding the extinct volcano Mount Vulture. Dry and velvety, medium bodied, with well-integrated grainy tannins; it reveals great balance and a persistent aftertaste.
Synthesi is an Aglianico intended for drinking young. The rich palate brims with flavors of black cherry, spiced plum, prunes, tobacco, leather, light oak, cocoa powder, nutmeg, faint espresso and an earthy note. Excellent with all game and red meat dishes .
