Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Red Currant, Cigar Box, Mint
This limited edition release from Perez Cruz, featuring Chile’s signature varietal grape, Carmenere, is intense, deeply layered, and highly distinctive, with a plethora of different flavors and aromas that ignite the senses. The nose is of brambly fruit, smoky cedar wood, and spicy undertones, but there are hints of licorice and candied watermelon as well. The palate is ripe red fruit, with mocha and eucalyptus at the outer edges. All this framed by soft tannins and a generous, lingering finish. Ideal for red meat, pair this with porterhouse steak or venison. Drinks decidedly above its price point and will age magnificently.
