Dating back to 1881, the Plumpjack Estate Winery property is one of the oldest operating wineries in the Napa Valley, known then as Mount Eden Winery. The PlumpJack Estate Winery was born in 1995.
Plumpjack's 2016 Merlot is rich and silky, structured, powerful, medium to full-bodied, with lots of depth, bright acidity, and rounded tannins. The expressive palate exudes notes of black cherry, plum, raspberry, graham cracker, vanilla, butterscotch, and sweet hickory smoke as well as red and black currants, toasted spice, vanilla bean and a touch of oak. It finishes long and spicy. Pair with Veal Marsala.
