Tasting Notes: Cherry, Licorice, Tar, Coffee bean
The winery is named for Alfredo Prunotto who bought a struggling Piedmont cooperative winery in 1923 and made it his own. His legacy continues today with the Antinori family. The Antinoris have moved the winery forward by investing in vineyards, equipment, and varietal analysis.
This Barbaresco is fresh, lean, focused, and well balanced with firm tannins and medium body. Lovely, deep flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, lavender,, blackberry, eucalyptus, tar, tobacco, vanilla, oak, licorice and coffee bean with a hint of baking spice float across the palate. the finish lingers on and on. Try with spaghetti carbonara with green peas.
