Grape: 75% Sémillon, 25% Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes: Lemon, Apple, Exotic fruits, Hazelnut
For several generations, Chateau Rieussec has been the leading name in Sauternes wines and was classified as a first growth in 1855. Initally only produced for the Rothschild family, market forces push for a dry wine from this produced brought this gem to the populus.
This dry white wine is a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, made with the same care and attention as their famous sweet Sauternes bottlings. It is a beautifully elegant and bright expression.Medium bodyied with pleasant acidity and light butter notes from oak aging.
The palate is bone dry but has a wonderful ripeness of fruit (pear, apple, white peach) and a creamy mouth filling texture. There’s a hint of vanilla and oak spice on the long, harmonious finish. Try with a vegan dish or salad or poultry.
