Grape: Savagnin
Tasting Notes: Almond, Green apple, White pepper, Citrus
The Maison Rijckaert was created in 1998 by Jean Rijckaert, a passionate Belgian established as wine producer in Burgundy since 1990.
There's not much of the usual oxidative Jura style but this Rijckaert Savagnin has a buttery smooth texture on the front end, and well integrated citrus acidity at the back end. On the light-bodied palate, there is great roundness with some light spicy notes and flavors of chalk, lemon, white flowers, nuts, minerals, green apples and hints of honey. This wine generally pairs well with poultry, mushrooms or mild cheese.
