Tasting Notes: Bright, Minerally, White Peach, Ginger
Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house, producing champagne since 1729. Founded by Nicolas Ruinart in the Champagne region in the city of Reims, the house is today owned by the parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy. Chardonnay is the main grape in Ruinart, harvested from the Cote des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.
Using mainly Chardonnay, and in this case 100% Chardonnay, Ruinart is known for an elegant and textured house style. The wine is made exclusively from Grand and Premier Cru Chardonnay mostly from estate owned vineyards. The palate is rounder than some, versus the sharper, crisper examples of other Blanc de Blanc Champagnes.
