Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house, producing champagne since 1729. Founded by Nicolas Ruinart in the Champagne region in the city of Reims, the house is today owned by the parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy. Chardonnay is the main grape in Ruinart, harvested from the Cote des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.
The highly rated Ruinart Rose has good balance, delightful freshness and a voluptuous body with a satiny mousse and well-honed acidity. The complex palate provides cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, grated ginger, nutmeg, lemon, ruby grapefruit, tangerines, and roasted almond flavors. It makes an excellent complement to fine Italian prosciutto or with fillet of duck breast cooked rare and served with cherry sauce.
