Chateau de Saint Cosme is the leading estate of Gigondas and produces the appellation’s benchmark wines. Wine has been produced on the site of Saint Cosme since Roman times. They were one of the first in the region to work organically beginning in the 1970s and to biodynamics in 2010.

Saint Cosme is “unquestionably one of the reference point estates…in the entire southern Rhône Valley" says Jeb Dunnuck.  This 100% Syrah CdR is dry and medium plus bodied with smooth tannins and nice acidity. The juicy palate provides flavors of blueberry, black cherry, pepper, mint, smoke, cedar, leather and red licorice. Play against the spice of the Syrah with steak au poivre or a Moroccan turreen or spicy Indian fare.
