Brothers George and David Sandeman founded the company in 1790. Sandeman remained a family business until bought out by the drinks company Seagram in 1979 and now owned by Sogrape.
The Sandeman 10 year Tawny is rich and chewy, full-bodied and appealing, sweet and fruity. It's unctuous on the palate with flavors of apricot, salty caramel, raisins, chocolate, orange peel almond, walnut, and prunes. The finish is medium-long in length with added notes of dried prunes. Surprisingly matches well with blue cheese. It is also a perfect match to rich desserts like tarte tatin.
