Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Blueberry, Black fruit, Black Tea, Chocolate
Fred Schrader founded Schrader Cellars in 1998 with a goal of making the best Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon possible. Since then, the brand has gained renown for its incredible vineyard sourcing and remarkably gifted winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown. “Las Piedras translates to ‘the little stones’ or ‘little pebbles,’ and that really goes to what the vineyard is composed of.
The 2019 LPV is full-bodied, complex, structured, poised and flawlessly balanced with ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a gorgeous finish. The 100% new Darnajou and Taransaud oak has been completely absorbed into the wine. Bold flavors of blackberry, black currant, blueberry, mesquite, espresso, rich chocolate, black tea, tobacco, graphite, crushed stone, and forest floor permeate the palate. Best after 2023. Calls for big protein like a big steak, lamb or game.
