Grape: Lagrein
Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Currant, Earth, Spice
St. Michael-Eppan is a wine producer situated in the Alto Adige region of northeastern Italy. It is a cooperative of 340 winemakers. Founded in June 1907 during economically trying times, the cooperative already showed a commitment in its nascent years to the support of quality wine production and to ensuring a reasonable income to winegrowers.
A beautiful, dry, medium bodied, rich and smooth Lagrein with solid acidity and tannins. This Lagrein caresses the palate with a velvety softness and a lovely spicy note. It features flavors of black fruit, plum, raisin, black currant, with subtle notes of tobacco, oak, earth, and vanilla. Great with lamb, wild game and aged cheeses.
