Considered one of the "first growths" of Napa Valley, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars produces renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic Stags Leap District estate vineyards. Founded in 1970, the winery brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley region when their 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the 1976 Paris Tasting, also known as the "Judgement of Paris."
This is easily one of the best Napa Valley red wines in its price category. Full bodied and plush. The palate abounds with flavors of plum, dark chocolate, dried fruit, clove, cigar box, mocha, and a touch of toasted oak. The finish is rich and lingering. Try with a roasted game bird or a great t-bone.
