Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Cola, Spices, Cherry
Bill Stoller was born into a Yamhill Valley farming family and was able to make investments in the Willamette Valley wine industry. In 1983 he purchased a 373-acre turkey farm owned by his father and uncle. That turkey farm became Stoller Vineyards in 2001. The surrounding mountain ranges buffer the vineyard, creating a warmer micro-climate that ensures consistent ripening. Stoller has Oregon's first and only LEED-certified, solar-powered, gravity-flow winery which opened in 2006.
The Stoller Estate Pinot has long, silky tannins, good acid as well as really impressive depth and structure. It offers black raspberry, cherry-cola, spicecake, earth, oak and vanilla flavors and other rustic elements. Pairs well with a spicy bean beef stew.
