The wine came from Tenuta Sette Cieli or “The Estate of Seven Skies” named for the view atop the tiny estate, perched up on a hill overlooking the original Sassicia vineyard from nearly 1300 ft. This Tenuta Sette Cieli “Yantra” is an absolute stunner crafted by a rising winemaking star in Elena Pozzolini. Because of Tenuta Sette Cieli’s respect for nature, the winery has chosen organic practices to safeguard the environment.

The vibrant acidity keeps the fruit tart and the body in balance, The wine is complex but simple with silky texture and mild tannins. Sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, black cherry, licorice, spice, leather, black currants, plums, cassis and coffee beans carress the palate. This is a terrific Tuesday night wine to pair with pasta, pizza, skirt steak, and burgers.
