Whitehall Lane, founded in 1979, is a small, family owned winery in Napa Valley’s historic Rutherford appellation, growing grapes in eight estate vineyards including the Leonardini Vineyard in St. Helena, using Napa Green certified and sustainable practices.
This nicely balanced, supple, medium bodied Merlot has firm, chewy tannins and medium acidity. There's a potpouri of flavors annoit the palate including brambly red fruit (cherry, pomegranates, raspberry, red currants), black fruit (blackberry, plum, black cherry), dried mission figs, toasted walnuts, leather, light oak, and layers of graphite and cocoa dust. The finish is long and sensual. It's a good match for a roast beef.
