Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Plum, Black Cherry, Spice, Raspberry
Williams Selyem Winery began as a simple dream of two friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, California, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. In less than two decades, Burt and Ed created a cult-status winery of international acclaim.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Vista Verde Vineyard is understated, polished and classy. It is moderately full and agreeably balanced with grainy tannins. The acid is seamlessly integrated. The Vista Verde offers a softly textured palate of plum, black cherry, currant, cinnamon, wild flowers, mint, raspberry, and strawberry with cacao, earthy spice and notes of smoke. Minerals and earthiness round out the finish in this elegant offering. Pair with with an oven-baked, well-marbled pork chop.
