Tasting Notes: Lemon, Honey, Caramel, Pink Grapefruit
A 50 year old cooperative with over 300 members, Winzkeller Andau has spent, since 1995's entry into the EU, over 10 million euros in modernizing its grape collection, winemaking and cellars.
This is a rare dessert wine from this cooperative. The hand-harvested, botrytis-affected Scheurebe grapes have been turned into a critically acclaimed wine featuring an unctuous palate of ripe stone fruit, candied lemon, grapefruit, honey, caramel, spice, and a touch of passion fruit. The sweetness is nicely balanced by the high acidity which is carried through to the lip smacking finish. Pair this with blue cheeses, foie gras and pates, or alongside your favorite dessert.
